"My landscapes are simple scenes; familiar places painted without any hidden messages. That simplicity is what I want the viewer to find in my work. I want them to be able to look at the painting and in a sense enjoy the view. Take some time, just to be there and feel what it is like to be there if they have never gone to that place. I want them to feel the quiet serenity that one feels when walking in the woods, the calm of watching the light of the sun play across the ocean's surface, the awe of seeing a lighthouse protecting the coastline. My paintings are my attempt at creating a window to a place I would like to be, and hopefully the viewer feels the same way."
